Support Worker - Bathurst

New Horizons exists to enhance the wellbeing of our customers and community. We are looking for Support Workers in Bathurst, who can treat our customers as individuals and think outside the box to help them in their unique circumstances.

Within the team at New Horizons Bathurst, you’ll work with a fun, like minded high performing team who are friendly, empathetic, compassionate, and invested in the highest quality care for our customers.

These roles will sit across a number of different programs – icare, CHSP, HCP and  with our Aged Care with rotating shifts. The hours of work vary from Monday to Sunday on a rotating rosters. 

As a registered NDIS provider, New Horizons specialise in supporting people with disability, mental health concerns, those who are aged, people at risk of homelessness, humanitarian entrants, youth, and Indigenous Australians.

About you

As a values-driven person you;

  • Have a qualification in disability services, community services, aged care or comparable experience
  • Hands on experience supporting people with a disability or people with complex histories / diagnosis 
  • Be able to make independent decisions on shift and know when to escalate to safeguard customers wellbeing 
  • Are reliable and want to help make a positive impact on the lives of customers 
  • Have good availability. The more you are available, the more work we can offer as we have day, afternoon, evening, night and weekend shifts available
  • Have a valid NSW Drivers C class licence and willingness to transport customers 

 

The Day to Day:

  • Meet the daily care needs of residents within the community 
  • Provide support to residents presenting with complex care needs
  • Tasks may include but are not limited too;
  • Accompanying to appointments, social & recreational activities, adhering to specialist plans and medication administration, personal care, manual handling, meal preparation as per NDIS plan goals

Ideally you will also have:

  • Solid knowledge of services and programs under NDIS
  • Understanding of Person-Centred Practices.
