This is a great opportunity for a WHS Specialist to champion the safety and wellbeing of the New Horizons team by providing broad-range guidance, advice and expertise to facilitate positive health and safety outcomes.

Some of what you will be championing:  

  • Collaboratively deliver and update WHS frameworks, tools, measures and reporting requirements in line with best practice.
  • Conduct assessments and identify opportunities to improve health and wellbeing within New Horizons.
  • Drive the preventative wellbeing culture, through incident and data analysis and insights and drive continuous improvement strategies.
  • Promote safe work practices and risk prevention & control, through targeted interventions and activities with our teams such as facilitating training and knowledge share sessions.
  • Provide support and guidance and expertise on complex matters such as high-risk workers compensation claims. 

About you

  • To thrive in this role you will bring
  • Tertiary qualified in workplace health & safety with minimum 8 years’ experience.
  • Industry experience in health, disability, aged care or education preferred.
  • Excellent people skills with ability to develop programs, promote and build and implement systems for delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation within workplace health & safety and Codes of Practice.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced conceptual and problem-solving skills with proven ability to use initiative effectively planning and prioritising.
